Despite the fact the move will cost the network a reported $12 million, NBC announced that it will axe the upcoming season of “The Roseanne Show” from its daytime schedule in early September, in spite of the station group’s contractual obligation to syndicator King World Productions to carry the quirky show for another year. Low ratings are to blame, and the consensus is that without a huge market like NBC carrying the program, the show will have to be canceled nationwide.
