NBA star Malik Sealy, 30, was killed in a car accident in a suburb of Minneapolis, Minn., on Saturday when his sports utility vehicle struck a pickup truck traveling in the wrong direction, reports the Associated Press. The Minnesota Timberwolves swingman, who also appeared as an actor in the movie “Eddie” and on the TV series “Diagnosis Murder,” was reportedly driving home from the birthday party of teammate Kevin Garnett when the crash occurred. The driver of the truck was treated for injuries but is expected to recover. Sealy, who was not wearing a seat belt, died of chest and head injuries. At a press conference on Sunday, Timberwolves coach Rip Saunders expressed his shock at the “sudden and devastating loss” and said that Sealy’s teammates were at his home to comfort his widow, Lisa, and their son, Malik Remington.
