National Proposal Day is March 20. So, if you’ve been mulling over a special someone, maybe it’s time to take the plunge. If you need a little inspiration, here are a few statistics gathered by David’s Bridal about engagements.
1. Teleprompter-Assisted Proposal
Watch anchor Jillian Pavlica read the beginning of her own proposal off the teleprompter in this clip. Asked about their engagement experience, 57 percent of respondents in the David’s Bridal survey said they knew it was coming, while 43 percent said they were surprised.
2. Technologically-Advanced Proposal
3. Kitten-Assisted Proposal
14 percent of women surveyed would have preferred that different people were present for their proposal – whether this stat would be affected if those people were adorable kittens (as in the above clip), was not addressed.
4. Best Airport Greeting Ever Proposal
20 percent of respondents also wished their proposal speech was different. We doubt the woman in the clip above was one of them.
5. Ellen Degeneres-Assisted Proposal
Not all of us are lucky enough to have an Ellen DeGeneres-feted proposal.
6. Urban Art Proposal
This proposal apparently required the use of a lookout – now that’s what we call dedication.
7. It’s May Be a Small World, But It’s a Big Proposal
22 percent of women would change the location of their proposal. Disneyland’s Main Street seems pretty good to us, though.
8. Seriously Raising the Bar Proposal
We have a hard time wrangling six friends for brunch, and this man pulled together a small army in the middle of Manhattan.
9. Casting Home Depot in a Whole New Light Proposal
You may also remember this video from its role in the Kids React to Gay Marriage video.
1o. Live Lip-Dub Proposal
This video purports to be “the world’s first live lip-dub proposal.” Two more like it, and it’ll officially be a trend!
11. Building-Assisted Proposal
It’s kind of like when the Statue of Liberty comes to life at the end of Ghostbusters 2, only a whole lot sweeter.
