The death of hip-hop star Nate Dogg was met with an outpouring of sorrow, but not just from folks in the music industry.

Fans like Kendra Wilkinson and Kim Kardashian were quick to acknowledge the loss of the Long Beach, Calif., music icon.

“RIP Nate Dogg…West Coast LEGEND!” Kardashian Tweeted, shortly after the news broke of the star’s death at age 41. “My fav songs are ‘Ain’t No Fun if the Homies Can’t Have None’ and ‘Regulator’!!!!”

Wilkinson also expressed her sorrow over the loss of the rapper, whose real name was Nathaniel Hale.

“Just heard the news about Nate Dogg,” the new Dancing with the Stars contestant Tweeted Wednesday. “Was just listening to him last night. RIP Nate Dogg.”

The musician’s colleagues were also deeply saddened by his untimely death.

“Nate’s passing is a terrible loss to all of those who loved him or had the opportunity to work with him,” rapper Warren G., who collaborated with Nate Dogg on the hit song “Regulate,” tells PEOPLE. “He will be greatly missed but he would want us to celebrate his life and the music he made. You are free now my brother, I will see you again one day.”
