Jason Allen Alexander, forever doomed to be referred to as Mr. Britney Spears, isn’t finished talking, it appears.
After having already revealed the thoughts in his heart to TV’s “Access Hollywood” and “Inside Edition” about his 55-hour marriage to Britney Spears earlier this week, the 22-year-old, 6’2″ junior at Southeastern Louisiana University has secured the services of a major public-relations firm to handle future book and TV offers, reports MSNBC.
Ira Rainess, who has been likened to the aggressive sports manager memorably played by Tom Cruise in “Jerry Maguire,” is on board with his Game Time Management, a Baltimore-based company, says the news Web site, which received confirmation from Rainess’s office that Game Time and Alexander are working together.
It could be a lucrative marriage. “Access Hollywood” reports that the momentary husband, who’s now back home in rural Kentwood, La., has been offered $1 million for a video showing him exchanging vows with Britney.
On Monday, the same day that Alexander’s marriage to Spears was annulled (by her attorneys), he told “Access Hollywood” and “Inside Edition” that his fateful wedding on Saturday began with him and Spears, also 22, watching “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” in their Palms Casino Hotel room in Las Vegas. They were both sober, he insisted.
“We were just chilling in the room, about 3:30, and we had so much fun, just looking out at the city and the lights, and we were, ‘We’re in Las Vegas, let’s do something. Let’s go get married,'” Alexander told “Inside Edition.”
He said the two had been friends but did not date in high school, despite the fact “there was definitely romance there. She came home for Christmas Eve and invited me to go to Las Vegas.”
To “Inside Edition,” Alexander said the decision to get a quickie annulment was mutual and came to them the very next day. As they were calling friends, he said, “We both started realizing what we had done … we shouldn’t have went about it the way we had.”
Alexander said he and Britney remain close. She has yet to comment.
