'Water into Wine' Machine Possibly Coming to a Counter Near You

Calling a device the “Miracle Machine” seems like a stretch … unless, of course, it turns water into wine. And that happens to be exactly what this one claims to do.

Lot18 wine club CEO Philip James and sommelier Kevin Boyer are currently seeking funding for the Miracle Machine, a countertop home winemaking machine that will apparently be able to turn water into wine in just three days.

The device is slated to cost a hefty $499, but after that, an iPhone app, Bluetooth connections and the ingredient package, you’ll be on your way to homemade wine that will have the flavor quality of bottles that would cost $20. So there’s that.

Here’s how the device works: You dump yeast, grape concentrate and water into it, and let it sit for a while. Then after it’s fermented, you add a “sachet of finishing powder to impart oak and other flavors that will allow your wine to taste as if it has been aging for several months to a year,” according to The Huffington Post.

What do you think? Would you purchase a Miracle Machine?
