Having revealed her and film director Paul Anderson’s wedding date of Aug. 22, Milla Jovovich has now owned up to one of her attractions to her fiancé: his Newcastle, England, background and that town’s favorite dish: fried fish and French fries.
“I’m marrying a Geordie!” the former model, referring to the name applied to Newcastle locals, triumphantly told Britain’s GMTV Friday. “I love Newcastle, we have so much fun there. I love going up to Lindisfarne and Lumley Castle – and having fish ‘n’ chips.”
Anderson, 44, and Jovovich, 33, have a 20-month-old daughter, Ever Gabo, and Jovovich is currently juggling motherhood, promoting her movie A Perfect Getaway and planning the nuptials at her Los Angeles home. (“It’s going to be small,” she told PEOPLE.)
“You know, just because I like to overwhelm myself – it’s just that I can’t live normally if I don’t have 10,000 things to do,” she told the TV program.
As for her own family background, “I come from a long line of Yugoslavian revolutionaries, all of my forefathers have spent at least eight years in prison for acts against the government, persona non grata, all that,” she said. “My great grandmother’s clothes are in a museum, she smuggled weapons into Yugoslavia against the Turks back at the turn of the century, so yeah, it’s kind of crazy.”
