Harry Styles wants Michael Sam to know he’s headed in the right direction.

During a concert on Wednesday, the One Direction heartthrob wore a Michael Sam #96 jersey onstage, making a show of support for Sam, the first openly gay player to be drafted by the NFL.

Styles was snapped wearing the jersey at the Edward Jones Dome two days after the first round of NFL roster cuts, which Sam made it through, though he was cut afterwards.

He Tweeted out his thanks to Styles and also thanked the Rams for the opportunity after being cut. Sam can still be picked up by another team or make the Rams’ practice squad.
