McVeigh Weighs Options

Posted on

On Wednesday, which was to have been his execution day, convicted Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh, 33, was said to be in “good spirits,” according to his attorneys. They added that the man being held responsible for the single worst act of terrorism on U.S. soil is keeping all of his options open — including a possible appeal. McVeigh is on death row in a federal prison in Terre Haute, Ind., for the 1995 blast that killed 168 people and injured hundreds of others. On Friday, U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft delayed the execution until at least June 11 to give McVeigh’s attorneys time to review more than 3,000 newly discovered FBI documents related to the case.
