Philippine investigators have raided the apartment and confiscated equipment of a suspect in the “Love Bug” computer virus case that shut down systems worldwide last week. (The virus, which arrived in an e-mail headed “ILOVEYOU,” even reached the Pentagon.) Authorities are offering no comment or details about the raid, though news reports from Manila say that the residents of the apartment in question — a man and a woman — were out at the time of the raid. The man is now in custody, according to NBC News, while the woman, who is the chief suspect, is said to be considering surrendering herself. Because there are no laws against computer hacking in the Philippines, says NBC, there are some questions as to whether or not any culprit in the case will be prosecuted.
