Kimberly Roads of the band Little Big Town has gotten married, her rep confirms to PEOPLE.
Roads and Stephen Schlapman, a longtime friend, said their vows in front of family and fellow band members on a private Caribbean island on November 28.
“It was small and intimate and precious,” says Roads’s rep, Tracy McGlocklin. “Bride, groom, and all the guests were barefoot.”
Roads’s first husband, Steven, died suddenly of a heart attack at age 41 in April 2005. He had been the band’s lawyer. “When Steven died, I was just completely numb,” Roads, 37, told PEOPLE in May.
But with the help of Schlapman, she was able to pick herself up again. “When I least expected it, love came back to me, and I am so grateful to God for His blessings,” she says.
In addition to finding love, Roads – with bandmates Jimi Westbrook, Phillip Sweet and Karen Fairchild – found success. Little Big Town’s 2005 album The Road to Here went gold, and on Thursday the group was nominated for two Grammy awards: best country album and best country performance by a duo or group with vocal.
Roads isn’t the only newlywed in the band: In May, Fairchild and Westbrook held their own low-key wedding in a pal’s Nashville backyard.
