Leo's Slight Delay

Posted on

Filming was suspended in central Rome on Thursday on the set of the upcoming Martin Scorsese movie “Gangs of New York,” starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Cameron Diaz, after three extras were injured when a horse-drawn carriage being used in a scene tipped over, according a publicist for the 19th century period drama. Although none of the injuries were said to be serious, “It was decided out of respect for them to suspend the day’s shooting,” said the spokesman. According to the Associated Press, one Italian news agency claimed that DiCaprio was angered by paparazzi who took photos of the accident and tossed horse manure at them. Another news agency reported both incidents but did not connect them. The film’s publicist declined comment on DiCaprio, while the actor’s spokesman in New York said that his only knowledge of the incident was that “Mr. DiCaprio was on his way to the hospital to visit the victims of the accident.”
