LeAnn Rimes has been undergoing some major dental drama – and taking her fans along for the painful journey.
In a long series of Tweets over several days, the singer detailed her discomfort and anxiety over a looming surgery that likely had fans feeling like they too, were about to get a root canal.
Rimes’s ordeal ended Monday, when she Tweeted. “Out of surgery!!! All is well. My whole face is numb and I’m starving… bad combo. Thx for all your prayers.”
The singer’s ordeal started last week when she took to Twitter to inform fans on Wednesday that she was having a visit from a specialist.
“Waiting on the endodontist to meet me and do a nighttime root canal,” she wrote. “This is one of the craziest things I’ve ever been through. Trying to keep my mind off the pain & what’s about to happen by saying hi to you guys. Life does not work on the right schedule sometimes. This is such bad timing!!!!! K, wish me luck. Much love!”
The singer was forced to cancel performances while she dealt with the dental emergency.
Meanwhile, she treated fans to a blow-by-blow of the days leading up to the actual surgery. “O-M-G i got 3 shots in the roof of my mouth & 1 INSANE shot directly into the half dead half ALIVE nerve through the hole he drilled on the backside of my tooth,” she wrote Wednesday.
On Friday, she revealed, “My mouth kills!!! I feel like the girl in The Exorcist where she can’t stop moving her head around on the pillow. I can’t get comfortable! Hopefully, no pea soup will come shooting out and I won’t be moving any dressers in front of the door to our bedroom w/ my mind🙂 no possession here, just ridiculous tooth pain!”
Rimes spent the weekend eating sauerkraut “to put probiotics into my system to counteract all the meds,” watching the Summer Olympics and listening to music to keep calm before her oral surgery.
Now that the main event is over, Rimes will spend time resting – until another surgery next week. “Now I heal…til next Monday….more surgery, minor though. :)” she Tweeted.
