“I didn’t know what to do with myself so I asked my mom, who I admire so much, for some suggestions,” Jenner, 18, told PEOPLE Friday night during her jam-packed appearance at the grand opening of the Sugar Factory American Brasserie, in Orlando, Florida.
“Mom told me I was great with business, and I should get involved with that,” Jenner says. “She is an amazing businesswoman herself who has been a major influence on me over the years. So I took her advice.”
Did she ever.
From a clothing line and a new deal with Puma, Jenner is also ambassador for Nip + Fab skincare brand; co-creator, with her sister Kendall Jenner, of Couture Pop confections, sold at the Sugar Factory; and the head of the wildly successful Kylie Lip Kit, the first part of her growing line of Kylie Cosmetics.
While she loves all of her work projects, the budding entrepreneur is “obsessed” with her lip kits, she tells PEOPLE.
“I love lips and gloss and working with these products,” Jenner says. “There is a big up trend with lip liner, and I make my own. It is my passion.”
Sporting cool navy hair and a salmon suede Manokhi leatherwear sleeveless dress, Jenner was greeted at the Sugar Factory like a rock star, with screams and shouts by 2,500 fans gathered in the courtyard of the restaurant and retail candy store.
“One Orlando retailer sold dresses to 50 different girls who each said she was going to Sugar Factory to see Kylie,” a fashion source at the event tells PEOPLE.
Jenner says she enjoys hosting Sugar Factory openings around the country because she feels that personal appearances are a great way to connect with her fans while building a brand. (And she “loves candy.”)
“I love everything about being in business,” she says.
Somewhere, Kris is smiling.
“When I am not working, I get anxiety. Already, I am expanding my lip kits and developing new products like eye shadow, eye liner, concealer and bronzer,” Jenner says. “When I get up in the morning, I can’t wait to start working!”
