The momager partied late Friday evening at The Lot in West Hollywood, California with many of her famous friends, including Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen, and Tina Knowles.
“The girls planned everything from the theme to the music. Kris was completely surprised!” a source tells PEOPLE. “She was very emotional. She was so happy.”
During a special duet from El DeBarge and David Foster, Jenner danced with daughters Kourtney Kardashian, Khloé Kardashian, Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner as well as boyfriend Corey Gamble. The crowd also went wild during a surprise birthday serenade from son-in-law Kanye West and Charlie Wilson.
But perhaps the best part of the night was the parody video made by the Kardashian-Jenner women. The sisters recreated the 1985 music video of “I Love My Friends,” which their mother made when she turned 30, as a way to “embarrass [Kris] a little bit for her new friends.”
The revamped version was a complete hit with the birthday girl and her guests. “The video the girls made was one of [Jenner’s] favorite moments,” the source says.
Celebrity party planner Mindy Weiss was the mastermind behind the Roaring Twenties-themed party that featured extravagant floral designs from Jeff Leatham, and Art Deco-inspired decor from Revelry Event Designers.
“There was a confetti cannon at around 11:30 p.m. It was amazing!” the insider dishes to PEOPLE.
Even before the party started, guests got a preview of the ’20s theme from custom invitations made by Lehr & Black. The chic black and gold Gatsby card promised an evening of “champagne flowing, dinner & dancing” and on the back was a custom rendering of Kris sculpted in 3D.
