The reality star opened up about her longtime boyfriend’s battle with alcohol and his current stay in rehab.
“He’s is doing well. I think the thing that’s most important to me is just his commitment to working on himself,” she told PEOPLE when she hung out at Marquee Dayclub in Las Vegas on Saturday. “If somebody doesn’t want to make changes then that’s really hard.”
Disick checked into a Costa Rican rehab facility last week, saying in a statement, “I realize my issues are bigger than me and I’m ready to truly remedy this struggle I continue to battle.”
Kardashian admits that there have been challenges with Disick and his highly publicized hard-partying ways, but there have been a lot of great moments over their nine-year relationship, and this commitment to remedy his struggle is one of them.
“He is learning so much about himself and growing, and so that’s really amazing to see,” she said. “When he’s working on himself it only betters our relationship.”
For his rehab, Disick is taking part in a lot of alternative therapy, which includes natural, plant-based methods of rehabilitation. The reality star will participate in iboga treatment, which uses a special African plant to cure addiction, according to the statement.
While Disick tries to better himself, Kardashian is continuing to raise the couple’s three children – Mason, 5, Penelope 2, and Reign, 3 months. On Saturday, though, she took just a small break to have a quick mommy day trip to Vegas with seven girlfriends, four of them fellow moms.
“We keep calling ourselves the mom-kabobs,” she said. “It’s all my close girlfriends. It s the fastest Vegas trip ever.”
