The Ex: Justin Bieber
We assume Belieb-ers around the world reached for their respective tissues when Gomez swung by the Late Show on March 18 and told David Letterman she made her ex-boyfriend cry. When Letterman brought up how he brought Bieber to tears the last time he was on the show, the happily single Gomez shot back, "Well, that makes two of us!" No longer sniffling, Bieber took to Twitter and responded, "We keep it positive over here."

The Ex: Brad Pitt
After seven years together, Aniston's marriage with Pitt came to an end in January 2005 amid reports linking the actor to now-fiancée Angelina Jolie. In a Vanity Fair interview later that year, Aniston – who now has a fiancé of her own – took a shot at her ex, knocking his bleached-blond hair and saying he has a "sensitivity chip that's missing."

The Ex: Britney Spears
When two of pop's biggest stars break up, there's only one real way to handle it: with a song. Timberlake's 2002 hit "Cry Me a River," thought to be a jab at Spears – who's seemingly accused of cheating in the music video – brings the waterworks in the form of a cool, catchy ballad. "You told me you loved me/Why do you leave me/All alone," the recently married man sings in the song, which was, tellingly, later covered by both Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez.

The Ex: Heidi Klum
Months after announcing her separation from Seal in January 2012, Klum moved on with bodyguard Martin Kirsten – and Seal moved his mouth to TMZ. "I would have thought that Heidi would have shown a little more class and at least waited until we separated first before deciding to fornicate with the help," he said. Klum fired back in a statement to PEOPLE, "Our separation was based on issues between the two of us."

The Ex: Jessica Simpson
Talk about an explosive interview! Years after his on-off relationship with Simpson ended in 2007, Mayer told Playboy in February 2010, "Sexually it was crazy. That's all I'll say. It was like napalm, sexual napalm." Responding to his TMI tell-all, in which he also compared her to crack cocaine, Simpson got the last laugh: "He'll never have this napalm again," she joked on The View a month later.

The Ex: Ashton Kutcher
She's transformed from Abercrombie amp Fitch model to Mrs. Don Draper since she dated Kutcher in her pre-Mad Men days. But the actor was "not supportive" of Jones's acting ambitions, she revealed to GQ in 2009. "He was like, 'I don't think you're going to be good at this.' So f– you!"

ASHTON & DEMI
Moore made the decision to end her marriage to Kutcher as rumors of infidelity swirled in 2011. "It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have decided to end my six-year marriage to Ashton," Moore said via statement. "As a woman, a mother and a wife, there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life."

The Ex: Harry Styles
Swift's songs are as known for their catchiness as they are for their frequent references to her love life. But the songstress took her usual heartbreak-to-hit antics up another notch at the 2013 Grammy Awards, where she strategically tweaked her single "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" just more than a month after her breakup with Styles. "So he calls me up, and he's like, 'I still love you,'" she belted out with an English accent that seemed to take aim at her ex.

The Ex: Joel Madden
Following their November 2006 split, Duff had some choice words for Madden and his new lady friend, now-wife Nicole Richie. "I felt disrespected that he moved on so quickly," she told Seventeen. "But some people don't want to deal with how they feel, so they cover it up. Rebound!"

The Ex: Tao Ruspoli
In between professing her love for fiancé Jason Sudeikis and complimenting David Beckham in a monologue at an N.Y.C. event last October, Wilde snuck in a (literally) below-the-belt jab at ex-husband Ruspoli, from whom she filed for divorce in March 2011. "I felt like my vagina died," she recalled of her unsatisfying sex life during her married years. "Turned off. Lights out."

The Ex: Fred Armisen
The Mad Men star indulged in little, um, self-expression after filing for divorce from Saturday Night Live funnyman Armisen in September 2010. "One of the greatest things I heard someone say about him is, 'He's so great doing impersonations,'" Moss told Page Six Magazine in March 2012. "'But the greatest impersonation he does is that of a normal person.' To me, that sums it up."
