3. REAL OR FRAUD?
Detractors suggest the wedding was more "showmance" than romance, and Humphries appears to agree, seeking an annulment, rather than a divorce, alleging fraud. It throws a huge wrench in Kardashian's hope of wrapping things up quickly, thanks to their prenuptial agreement, the marriage's short duration and the fact that the couple had no kids. It's not just her lawyers who are mad: Fans are booing Humphries.

4. LEGAL COMPLICATIONS
About six months after filing for divorce, Kardashian begins dating Kanye West, but any hopes of finalizing her divorce quickly fizzles at a May 2012 hearing when it's revealed that Humphries won't sign on the dotted line. Kardashian's lawyer Laura Wasser (pictured) blames Humphries's "personal feelings" for his foot-dragging. It doesn't seem to be about money, as Humphries soon signs a two-year, $24 million contract with the Brooklyn Nets.

5. TRIAL … AND MOTHERHOOD
Instead of preparing for their one-year anniversary in August, Kardashian and Humphries become engaged in trench warfare, with Kardashian's lawyer claiming Humphries's side is resorting to strange tactics like packing a deposition request for West in a Nordstrom's box and delivering it to Kardashian's front door. The star's 2013 pregnancy further leads to a plea for an expedited divorce, while Humphries refuses to oblige. The decision is taken out of his hands in February, when a judge declares the pair's divorce ready for trial, and Humphries's lawyer removes himself from the case.
