Destination wedding!

While Kim Kardashian and Kanye West will marry later this month in France, they aren’t the only A-list stars who have picked the romantic destination to say “I do.”

A slew of other celebs have jetted to the European country for their nuptials, complete with fancy wine and French fare, including Eva Longoria, Halle Berry, Salma Hayek and Keira Knightley.

Longoria tied the knot with her now ex-husband Tony Parker in front of 250 guests during their religious ceremony at the historic Church of Saint Germain l’Auxerrois, located opposite the Louvre museum, in July 2007.

Even though Berry swore she would never walk down the aisle again, the actress made it official with French film star boyfriend Olivier Martinez when they married in a small chateau surrounded by 60 guests last July.

Hayek wed French businessman Francois-Henri Pinault on Valentine’s Day 2009 in the City Hall of the Sixth Arrondissement in central Paris, while Knightley and James Righton held their intimate ceremony in May 2013 in Mazan, where the actress owns a small wine-growing farm.

Despite its popularity for star-studded nuptials, there are strict requirements to be married in France.

“All marriages must be performed by a French civil authority before any religious ceremony takes place,” states the government’s website. “The mayor can authorize the deputy mayor or a city councilor to perform the ceremony in the town in which one of the parties to be married has resided for at least 40 days preceding the marriage. These requirements cannot be waived.”

As Kardashian, 33, and West, 36, get close to their big day, it seems like they’ve planned accordingly to be sure they’re in line with French laws. West has been known to keep a luxury apartment in France. If the mayor accepts this address as a residence, it should fulfill the 40-day residency requirement.
