Kid Rock Sued for Alleged Assault

Posted on

A disc jockey in Tennessee is suing Kid Rock for $575,000 claiming that the entertainer punched him at an adult entertainment club in February.

The suit, filed Monday in Circuit Court, claims Kid Rock, 34, struck Jerry Campos, 30, on the left side of his face on Feb. 16, “thereby causing severe, disabling and permanent injuries” during a 3 a.m. altercation at Christie’s Cabaret downtown, reports the Associated Press.

Campos’s suit seeks $500,000 in punitive damages and $75,000 in compensatory damages. In the initial police report of the incident, Campos was said to be in the DJ booth when he exchanged words with an audience member. Believing that Campos had shown a lack of respect to one of his friends, Kid Rock demanded an apology – which Campos refused, and Kid Rock struck him in the face twice, police said.

Nick Stern, a spokesman for the singer, did not return a call seeking comment on the suit.
