Kris and Bruce announced their separation in October after 22 years of marriage. The former Olympian raised Khloé from the age of 5, even walking her down the aisle for her wedding to now-ex Lamar Odom.
Khloé, 29, spearheaded plans to celebrate Bruce’s 64th birthday on the latest episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, throwing a party after Bruce admitted he felt left out post-breakup. But in her Cosmopolitan cover story, Khloé insists the family is closer than ever.
“There was no scandal. There was no bad blood,” she tells Kris, 58. “You’re just happier apart. You are nicer to each other now. You get excited to see each other at dinners. It makes me sad that people think Bruce is no longer a part of my life.”
Kris confirmed there are no hard feelings.
“Bruce is always going to be here, because he’s my best friend and I adore him,” she responded. “We talk on the phone several times a day. But he’s better [living] in Malibu.”
