King of Queens star Kevin James and his wife, model Steffiana De La Cruz, are expecting their second child – another daughter – this summer, the proud papa tells PEOPLE.
“We’re very excited,” James, 41, said Saturday night at Boulevard3 in Hollywood, where his CBS sitcom celebrated its final wrap after nine seasons.
Of the impending arrival, James said, “It’s another girl. [Steffiana]’s due July 1st. I just love being a dad and spending time with my wife and child, and now we’re having another girl. It’s incredible.”
The couple’s first child, Sienna-Marie, was born Sept. 30, 2005.
James and De La Cruz tied the knot in June 2004 at a Catholic church in Dana Point, a beach town in Orange County, Calif., before 180 guests that included Clint Eastwood and Ray Romano. (James’s King character, Doug Heffernan, originated as a recurring role on Romano’s Everybody Loves Raymond.)
As for James’s professional plans now that King is off to syndication heaven, he tells PEOPLE, “I’m just looking forward to doing a little drinking and a little napping. And also it’s going to allow me to work on my golf game. I’m hoping to kick Ray Romano’s ass on the golf course. Can I say that?”
Besides, he also notes, “I have the upcoming film with Adam Sandler, called I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, so we’ll see how it goes.”
