The Bacon Brothers are Nashville bound!

Kevin Bacon and his older brother, Michael, are heading to the country music destination Wednesday, just in time to present at the CMT Awards.

“It’s gonna be fun,” Kevin tells PEOPLE.

Although The Bacon Brothers have been playing together for more than 15 years, they still relish the quality time they spend together on the road.

“We get to spend time in unusual places and do unusual things together,” Kevin says. “We were down in Texas the other day – sitting playing music, singing songs watching the river go by in a part of Texas where probably we never would go and definitely wouldn’t go together.”

The duo has experienced their fair share of success in Nashville as well. “One of the most fantastic thing that happened to our careers is when we played the Grand Ole Opry with the Bellamy Brothers,” says Michael.

But don’t expect them to show up at a local microphone this week in Tennessee. “Nashville is a very intimidating place to play because you have the finest musicians and finest songwriters there all the time,” Kevin says.

The CMT Awards air Wednesday on CMT at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CMT and CMT.com.
