After a pregnant Kate was hospitalized with serious morning sickness, only to improve as weeks passed, she and Prince William announced that their little one was set to make his – or will it be her? – royal arrival in July. The Palace confirmed that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, as they are known, will not welcome twins as some suspected, but the July due date came as a fitting nod to William’s late mother, Princess Diana, whose birthday was July 1.
Readers were surprised by the angry back and forth between Lady Gaga, 26, and Kelly Osbourne, 28 after the pop star posted an open letter online to the Fashion Police host, calling Osbourne out as a bully for criticizing celebrities over their looks.
“Your show breeds negativity,” Gaga wrote to Osbourne, who later took the high road and said she would not perpetuate a feud. “All I have to say on this subject is that I love Lady Gaga!” Osbourne told PEOPLE when questioned about the comments.
Kim Kardashian, 32, and pregnant with the child of boyfriend Kanye West, upset readers yet again this week, this time with comments made about the ongoing divorce she has been seeking for more than a year with estranged husband Kris Humphries, who has sought an annulment, claiming fraud.
“I would have rather ended it when I felt that way, than waste a year of my life not being happy,” she told the Sway in the Morning radio show. “I knew the whole world was going to bash me. I knew that. I said to myself, ‘What’s more important? My life and my happiness, or what the whole world thinks of me?'”
The sad life of troubled country singer Mindy McCready, 37, continued this week with news that her boyfriend David Wilson, and the father of her youngest child, 9-month-old son Zayne, committed suicide. McCready, who had battled drug addiction and her own suicide attempts, and who had regained custody of her oldest son Zander, 6, had been attempting to rebuild her life. Her rep said while it was a sad time, McCready was surrounded by the support of family and friends to help her get though this latest tragedy.
Not only were readers wowed by the Kelly Osbourne vs. Lady Gaga fight, the war of words made them laugh out loud as well.
The fight drew the claws of Osbourne’s outspoken mother, Sharon Osbourne, who took Gaga to task publicly, penning a response on Facebook. Wrote Sharon: “I am calling you a bully because you have 32 million followers hanging on your every word and you are criticizing Kelly in your open letter. Are you so desperate that you needed to make this public?”
