Understandably, as there will be an estimated two billion TV viewers around the world watching her every step into Westminster Abbey on April 29.
As Kate, 29, toured northern England Monday with her fiancé, she was asked by Amanda Wood, 46, from Blackburn if she was feeling nervous about the big day. “Yes, of course I am,” Kate replied, during a day of rain and broad smiles – the last official event for the couple before the wedding.
And there was no doubt that the wedding was on everyone’s minds, not only on those of the royal couple’s. They were wished luck at every turn, and one couple, Margaret and Alwyn Davis, sent Kate “all the best.” Her reply: “Yes, I can’t believe it’s coming very soon now.”
The occasion was also used to announce the first donation by the charitable foundation established by Princes William and Harry. The grant-giving body, set to reward causes close to them, handed over a “six-figure sum” to the Queen Elizabeth II Fields Challenge, which aims to enhance and protect playing fields in Britain.
