1. HOLD THE CHAMPAGNE
But cue the water works! Months before the official Dec. 3 confirmation that Duchess Catherine and husband Prince William are expecting their first child – a boy born July 22! – the Duke himself made a revealing statement on the couple's September tour of Southeast Asia. "Someone asked him how many children he would like to have," explained a student who saw the couple during their stopover in Singapore, "and he said he was thinking about having two." On that same visit, Middleton, who's less than 12 weeks into her pregnancy toasts the Queen … with what appears to be a glass of water.

2. HAND SIGNALS
Though she's not giving anything away just yet, the Duchess's body language seems to be doing all the talking. During an Oct. 10 visit to the Newcastle, U.K., Civic Centre, Kate cradles her belly and glows with the smile of a mom-to-be.

4. BUMP IT UP?
Oh, baby! A Nov. 27 trip to London's Natural History Museum puts something else on display – another maternal gesture. "We'll sort of get over the marriage first and then maybe look at the kids," William said when the couple first announced their engagement two years earlier. "But obviously we want a family, so we'll have to start thinking about that."

5. 'ONE' SPECIAL GIFT
The couple receive an early congratulation in the form of a very telling present: a baby's onesie adorned with a helicopter and the slogan "Daddy's little copilot." William said, "I'll keep that," according to the well-wisher who gifted the Royal Air Force flight lieutenant the handmade item when the couple made a Nov. 28 visit to Cambridge. That same day, the Duke and Duchess also greeted some very special – and adorable! – fans: the babies of some of the royal watchers gathered in the Cambridge Market Square.
