He can hold his own on stage and screen, but Justin Timberlake should probably stay away from basketball courts. And wrestling rings.

The singer-actor, 30, shows off his athletic – and comic – side in a promotional video for ESPN’s July 13 ESPY Awards, which honors the finest and fittest in sports.

“That was yours,” Timberlake, who played host at the 2008 ceremony, wisecracks in the video when he misses a lob during a game of volleyball.

His sportsmanship fails – but comedic victories continue: He wears a cape to a wrestling match, uses his field hockey stick as a dancing cane and pleads with his swim team mates as he’s about to hit the diving board, “Hey, don’t look at my butt.”

At next week’s ESPYs, Timberlake will present the Capital One Cup, which recognizes top college athletes. And go ahead and look at his butt.
