Josh Groban is plenty popular, but he’s the first to admit that he didn’t have much game growing up.
“I was a theater nerd and the nerd in my class, so even saying hi was a really big deal,” Groban, 34, tells PEOPLE in this week’s issue.
“I like the polar bear line: ‘Do you know how much a polar bear weighs? It’s enough to break the ice. Hi, how are you?’ It beats Tinder!” he says.
And while Groban – with his curly locks – has always been distinctive, some fans think he has a doppelgänger.
“[People think I am] James Blunt, quite a bit at one point,” Groban reveals. “And Richard Gere all the time. Okay, that’s only by my mom.”
