Who could have ever guessed that Justin Timberlake would have gone from the gel-haired frontman of ‘NSYNC to the suave, comic frontman of our hearts?
No post-boy-band Timberlake endeavor has filled us with more joy than his friendship – and frequent collaborations – with Jimmy Fallon: his pal, comedic other-half and bromantic partner. From goofy video sketches to impromptu Beyoncé dance numbers, the dynamic duo are the ultimate example of People We Want to Be (and Be With).
We’re currently obsessing over Timberlake and Fallon’s performance of Alanis Morissette’s “Ironic,” given while reprising their adorably goofy Camp Winnipesaukee sketch on The Tonight Show.
Here are six more of our favorite Jimberlake moments (yeah, we did that – deal with it) that make us so, so thrilled to live on this same earth with them.
1. That time they nailed the ‘Single Ladies’ dance at the US Open.
If anyone could distract attention away from the ever-sultry Federer, it’s these guys getting lowwww.
2. That time they performed the ‘History of Rap – Part 6’
In just a few glorious minutes, Fallon and Timberlake tackled LL Cool J, N.W.A, the Beastie Boys, Drake, Salt-N-Pepa, DJ Jazzy Jeff, the Fresh Prince, R. Kelly and so, so many more – it was beautiful. So beautiful.
3. That time they opened the Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary Special
Timberlake is a five-time SNL host for a reason. The guy is a master showman.
4. That time JT shared a photo of his 5-month-old son, Silas, on The Tonight Show
This may not have been a “collaboration,” per se, but of course the new dad chose to reveal his adorable son to the world on his buddy’s show.
5. That time they welcomed Steve Carell into their bromance.
We’re not quite sure why “Real People, Fake Arms” – a faux soap opera sketch in which everyone wears plastic mannequin arms – makes us laugh uproariously, but we just can’t keep it together. (And neither can Timberlake … or Fallon, but he never can.)
6. #Hashtag. That is all.
