Country music duo Sugarland – Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush – are playing with the big boys now: The pair have their own ABC primetime special airing Monday and a new CD/DVD being released Tuesday exclusively at Walmart.
“It feels comfortable – it feels exciting but it feels right,” Nettles, 34, tells PEOPLE about the band’s success, including the special Sugarland: Live on the Inside airing Monday at 8 p.m. on ABC. “It feels comfortable because the show is good and we love it and we put a lot of energy and artistry and thought into it and I think that that translates.”
To celebrate the release of their DVD on August 4, Nettles and Bush, 39, will be debuting it in select movie theatres across the country for one night only on Aug 6.
“I would actually love to be able to go and slip in and watch it on the big screen,” says Nettles about the movie, which was filmed at their concert at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Ky., during their “Love on the Inside” tour. The accompanying live CD is their first ever and includes some of their biggest hits.
Despite their success, the duo don’t plan on taking it easy anytime soon. They’re currently on tour with Keith Urban and Kenny Chesney, though they had to cancel a few dates to give Nettles’s vocal cords time to rest. But if they do get any real down time, Nettles will surely be heading to the beach. Says Nettles: “I love the beach, I love an umbrella, I love a good book and a nice fruity drink and just relaxing.”
