Could there be an August 2011 wedding on the books for Prince William and longtime girlfriend Kate Middleton?
U.K. tabloid the Daily Mail reports that the two will wed during the second week of August at Westminster Abbey, citing a senior Abbey source. Though the timing is tentative, and no date or engagement has been confirmed, others have suggested that a wedding could occur on Aug. 31, on the 14th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death.
In the past, Prince William has stated that he will not marry until he was “28 or even 30.” (His 28th birthday was June 21.)
The couple, who have been dating for seven years, have been surrounded by engagement rumors, and in April, the Palace officially quelled talk of an imminent proposal and November 2010 wedding.
A spokesperson for William’s official residence, Clarence House, called that talk “wide off the mark,” at the time.
