Hugh Jackman has a couple life slogans, but the most important one involves his leading lady.
“Have a go,” he told Australian morning show Sunrise when asked if there was a slogan he lives by. “The other one, the most important one, is drummed into me everyday. Happy wife, happy life. That’s the slogan. We’re about to celebrate our 20th.”
Certainly a good mantra to live by, and it seems to be working for the actor and his wife Deborra-Lee Furness, as they’ve been happily married for nearly two decades.
“It gets better and better, I can honestly say that,” Jackman, 47, said during an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. “She’s the best thing that ever happened to me.”
Even when he’s not busy adoring his wife, Jackman is still quite the family man.
An Easter weekend family trip to the beach in Sydney took a turbulent turn when cameras captured footage of Jackman helping swimmers navigate a riptide. Although the actor and everyone involved are okay – including his 15-year-old son Oscar – Jackman shrugged off the incident as spending too much time in the states.
“My son got a little caught,” he told Sunrise. “I’ve had him in America too long. That’s a sure sign. Getting caught in a rip, that’s a sure sign I haven’t had him at the beach enough.”
