There’s a first time for everything – and for Josh Groban that means tackling a Portuguese-language song on his brand new album, Illuminations.

“Voce Existe Em Mim (You Exist in Me),” features an all-girl drum corp and sensuous strings – and has an exclusive first listen of the song.

In that spirit of trying new things, Groban wrote or co-wrote 11 of the 13 songs on Illuminations, making the album, due out Nov. 15, one of his most deeply personal yet.

“These are my stories,” he says. “For every one of these songs, someone’s going to know it’s about them. I’m going to get a text message about every one. This is a very personal record.”

Three years in the making, the album finds Groban teaming with producer Rick Rubin and shouldering more responsibility for its sound. “The bar was set high from the beginning,” he says. “That’s why it took so long. But I can say that more of me went into this record than anything I’ve done.”

Already, first single “Hidden Away” has been released to radio (listen below), and its candid lyrics spotlight the singer’s more direct and open-hearted approach.

“Sing it out,” he sings, “so I can finally breathe in/I can take it all the same/ Reaching out for someone I believe in/All I really need today.”
