Expect to see an homage to Harry Potter when the movie version of “Charlie’s Angels” opens on Nov. 3. USA Today reports that the big screen version of the ’70s TV series, which stars Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu as the newest Angels, will contain “an ode to Harry Potter,” says its director, who goes by the name of McG. “Drew dressed up as Harry Potter to go undercover.” The sequence reportedly comes at the beginning of the movie, which shows Barrymore slipping behind a trapdoor in a library as she sports large, dark-rimmed eyeglasses. “She looks like Harry Potter in his wizard robe,” says McG, adding that Drew is a great fan of the J.K. Rowling series — so much so that she read aloud from the books to keep those on the set entertained. Meanwhile, despite all the production problems that were reported from the “Angels” soundstages, Friday’s Wall Street Journal states that the movie is “not the disaster previously predicted . . . reactions at test screenings have been encouraging.”
