While a report this week alleged Gavin Rossdale left ex Gwen Stefani in the hospital after the birth of their son Apollo to cheat with their former nanny, a source close to Rossdale tells PEOPLE the story “is 100-percent untrue. It’s bulls—.” (A rep for Rossdale could not be reached.)
As for how the Bush frontman is weathering the infidelity rumors, “He’s dealing with it as best he can,” says the source, who adds Rossdale’s main concern is his children – Kingston, 9, Zuma, 7, and Apollo, 20 months – with Stefani.
“His primary focus is his kids, and he’s doing everything he can to protect them and keep things as normal as possible.”
Rossdale, 50, and Stefani, 46, announced their split in August.
In addition to putting their kids first, both exes are moving forward. Rossdale is working on a new Bush record, while Stefani released a new single and is in her coaching chair on The Voice, where she met new boyfriend Blake Shelton.
“While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment,” Stefani and Rossdale told PEOPLE in a statement in August.
