Time to ease off the Aquaman jokes, everyone. HitFix is reporting that Jason Momoa, the charismatic man-mountain behind Game of Thrones‘ Khal Drogo and the 2011 reboot of Conan the Barbarian, is going to play Aquaman in Zack Snyder’s forthcoming Batman/Superman film.

Rumors regarding the decision have been floating around for a while (so much so that Momoa, 34, flat-out told people to stop asking him about it), and HitFix adds that Snyder already has the character’s designs finalized.

HitFix notes that Momoa’s Aquaman will not have a prominent role in the film, but the character’s appearance will further set up the “Justice League” movie, which current buzz says is slated to be released in May 2017. Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is set to hit theaters in 2016, so begin ramping up your fervent speculation now.
