Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords is regaining part of her ability to speak.
Giffords has asked for toast, her spokesman C.J. Karamargin tells CNN, though he would not reveal what else the congresswoman has said.
After sustaining a gunshot wound to the head during a fatal shooting spree in Tucson, Ariz., on Jan. 8, in which six people were killed and 12 others injured, Giffords has been recovering at TIRR Memorial Hermann rehabilitation hospital in Houston.
“The reason for choosing this rehab facility is because of their track record,” Karamargin said. “They are doing a fabulous job and working with her language and speech exercise and the physical therapy part of it.”
