Cardinals Pitchers Adorably Botch Frozen Song at Charity Karaoke

Posted on

Adam Wainwright and Trevor Rosenthal are pitchers for the St. Louis Cardinals. As it turns out, their skills on the mound don’t quite extend to the stage, even when they’re singing for a good cause.

More than a few St. Louis Cardinals were belting their hearts out for charity on April 10. The players’ wives organized an event called “Homers for Health” that benefitted SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center.

“Waino” and Rosenthal – which sounds like an excellent Hall & Oates cover band fronted by personal-injury attorneys – chose to, uh, “favor” the crowd with a rendition of “Love is an Open Door” from the omnipresent 2013 animated hit Frozen.

Though they seem a bit cautious at first, they quickly get into the song, and their enthusiasm more than makes up for an technical shortcomings.

Fox 2 St. Louis reports that the players’ wives hope to make this an annual event, which means whatever the animated blockbuster of 2014 ends up being, we can look forward to seeing more Cardinals mutilate its iconic numbers next year.

If you’re interested, here’s what the song actually sounds like.
