How does globe-trotting supermodel Eva Herzigova balance work and bringing up her 1-year old son George?
“I try not to be away from him for more than four days,” Herzigova, 35, told PEOPLE at a Valentino party at the Peggy Guggenheim museum in Venice. (George’s father is Italian businessman Gregorio Marsiaj.)
And unlike many models, she’s chosen not to bring him with her to far-flung locations. “I try not to do that to him,” she explained. “Travel is hard on a baby.”
Even though her son was many miles away, he was never far from the model’s thoughts, as she spoke happily about his first birthday party in June.
“It wasn’t like this,” she said, laughing as she surveyed the museum’s candlelit grounds with waiters passing Prosecco. “It went well. We had balloons and friends. And a fruitcake with lots of colors.”
Herzigova made the most of mommy’s night off, moving on from Valentino’s party to the riverside terrace of Venice’s Hotel Gritti Palace, where she and a handful of pals – including model Natalia Vodianova – sipped Barolo wine until nearly 3 a.m.
