In his latest video diary entry, Survivor: Africa winner Ethan Zohn takes viewers along to the hospital for his sixth and final chemotherapy session, wrapping up three months of treatment for the cancer he was first diagnosed with on April 30.
“I’m super excited. It’s the last one, hopefully ever, ever, and I just can’t wait to get it over with,” says Zohn, 35, as he sits in the waiting room before treatment. “So today’s a good day.”
Giving high-fives to hospital workers and friends at the end of his session, Zohn is heard saying, “I’m done! I’m done!”
Zohn, who is battling CD20-positive Hodgkin’s lymphoma – a rare form of Hodgkin’s disease – has been taping video diaries as a way to help educate others about cancer and its symptoms, and to inspire people to stay positive through their own treatments.
A series of tests after this final chemotherapy session will determine whether or not it has worked, and if the mango-sized mass in his chest is shrinking.
