Madonna may have been the subject of doctoral dissertations in the ’90s, but now a new star is making her way in the halls of academia: a Charlie’s Angel. “The Life and Times of Drew Barrymore” is an accredited class at Ohio’s Oberlin College, reveals USA Today. The weekly sessions are taught by students who slip a Barrymore movie into a VCR and then lead a discussion. The course, says the paper, is available through the Experimental College, a student-run department whose past courses have included the study of the daytime soap opera “Days of Our Lives,” “Art and Science of Home Brewing” and “Whiskey Appreciation.” The final exam for the Barrymore class requires students to perform a skit based on a scene from one of her movies. A Gertie scream from “E.T,” perhaps?
