Nicolas Cage and Lisa Marie Presley have completed their divorce, ending lengthy legal proceedings that outlasted the actual 3 1/2-month marriage, reports Reuters.
A spokeswoman for the Leaving Las Vegas Oscar winner confirmed Tuesday that the divorce had become official. A spokeswoman for Presley could not be reached.
Cage, 40, filed for divorce on Nov. 25, 2002, from his second wife, the only child of Elvis Presley. They had married on Aug. 10.
According to an Extra report, Cage’s legal papers, filed Monday afternoon under the actor’s given name of Nicolas Coppola, state that the couple “amicably resolved” their brief union.
The papers also reveal that both Cage and Presley will not receive any kind of spousal support and that each will maintain all assets acquired prior to their marriage. Terms of the couple’s joint assets were not disclosed in the papers.
It was the third marriage for Presley, 36, who was married to Michael Jackson for 20 months (1994-96) and who previously had two children with musician Danny Keogh, to whom she was married from 1988 to 1994. The children, Danielle and Benjamin, are now 15 and 11, respectively.
Cage was also previously married to actress Patricia Arquette and has currently been linked with 19-year-old former waitress Alice Kim, says Reuters.
