Frances Godowsky, 92, George and Ira Gershwin’s kid sister, Monday, in New York. She sang in some Broadway shows in the ’20s but was better known for trying out her brother George’s songs at parties. She married Leopold Godowsky Jr., son of the Austrian pianist and one of George’s poker buddies, in 1930. (He invented Kodachrome film.) She later took up painting and turned out hundreds of well-received works.
