She was 79 and had suffered for years from Alzheimer’s disease … Bobby Troup, a musician and actor who penned the popular song “Route 66” and played a neurosurgeon on the 1970s TV drama “Emergency” (co-starring his wife, actress-singer Julie London, who played Nurse Dixie), Sunday, in Los Angeles. He was 80.
