Soccer fans (and the women of Miami) received some good news Wednesday – David Beckham is officially launching an MLS soccer team in the city.

Calling the opportunity “a dream,” Beckham told a news conference that he chose Miami because it was a “vibrant” city where he was “looking forward to spending a lot of time here with my wife and family.”

The first order of business is building a stadium. “We don’t want public funding,” says the frequently shirtless sports icon and star of underwear ads. “We will fund the stadium ourselves.”

“The people of Miami deserve a stadium they can be proud of,” he says, adding he plans to create a kids soccer academy. “It’s all about nurturing talent.”
