Danica Patrick got her first Daytona 500 race off to a nasty start.
The racer, 29, crashed her green car on the second lap in an accident that also involved Jimmie Johnson, Kurt Busch, Elliott Sadler and other drivers.
“Wow,” exclaims the NASCAR.com blog. “The wreck was triggered when Elliott Sadler shoved Johnson.”
Patrick didn’t appear to be hurt as her car got struck in the rear and shot sparks before she steered it off the track to safety.
“Danica made two great dodges to avoid worse damage,” notes USA Today‘s blog.
The crash sent the car to the garage for repairs while the race went on without Patrick.
