Michele, 26, was recently surprised by Monteith, 31, on a cover shoot for Marie Claire Mexico and Latin America, the magazine’s Editor-in-Chief Ariadne Grant revealed on Wednesday.
“[She] showed another side of her personality, softer and more innocent on the interview when she got all excited with some questions,” Grant said in a statement posted on the monthly’s U.K. site. “That side was even more evident when Cory showed up almost at the end of the session. She was very happy about him being there.”
But it wasn’t just Michele who was giddy about her fellow Glee star’s appearance at the shoot. The feeling appeared to be mutual.
“Cory showed up in great spirits and was very nice to everybody there; he even took pictures with whoever asked for it,” Grant said. “He just asked for a Coke and stayed there watching the shooting until it was done. They were both very nice and obviously happy and in love.”
Acknowledging the talented heartthrob’s tragic death from a toxic mixture of alcohol and heroin, Grant concluded with, “We are very disrupted by the unfortunate and untimely events. Our thoughts are with Lea.”
Fans of Monteith may make donations in his name to three charities that were especially important to him: Project Limelight Society, which exposes youth living in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside to the arts; Virgin Unite, founded to support entrepreneurial efforts to better the world; and Chrysalis, which helps homeless and low-income individuals find employment.
