Christie Brinkley is back to living as a Cover Girl – returning to her role as the face of CoverGirl cosmetics in a briefly broken association that first began in 1976.
With her new CoverGirl contract, the supermodel, 51, will be pitching Advanced Radiance, designed for women over 30, the Associated Press reports.
Brinkley and CoverGirl parted ways about 10 years ago, but it was an “amiable separation,” says Brinkley, who added that, despite the break, she still used CoverGirl makeup.
The company approached her earlier this year to rekindle their relationship, and soon after Brinkley her horse, dog and her two younger children – daughter Sailor, 7, (by husband Peter Cook, an architect) and son Jack, 10 (with ex-husband Ricky Taubman) – were frolicking on the beach before the cameras for the print and TV campaign.
“We’ve been having a ball today. It’s like a time warp. It’s as if those 10 years between never happened,” she says by cell phone from the Hamptons.
And of the passage of time? “There is such an age phobia in this country,” she adds, “and this ad is showing me being comfortable with the age I am. I think it’s a good positive image, something you don’t see enough of.”
