When thinking of beverages for a backyard barbecue, sparkling wine might not come to mind. But crafting this citrusy concoction makes us wonder why we’ve been serving beer instead of Brut all along!
“I love entertaining poolside in the summer, and this is an amazing cocktail for it – so simple and refreshing,” Trina Turk, who designed an exclusive capsule collection based on Chandon’s limited-edition “American Summer” bottle, tells PEOPLE. “Serve it in mason jars for a chic, homemade look.”
• 3 oz. sparkling wine, such as Chandon Brut Classic
• 2/3 oz. vodka, such as Belvedere Citrus
• 1/3 oz. fresh lemon juice
• Dash of simple syrup
• Fresh fruit of your choice
Shake vodka, lemon juice and simple syrup over ice and strain into a flute or mason jar. Top with sparkling wine and garnish with fruit.
