Rejoice, Carly Simon fans! The singer is releasing new, old music.

“Showdown” is a rare, previously unreleased track Simon originally recorded during her sessions for her 1978 album Boys In the Trees.

The tune will now be part of her new album Songs From the Trees (A Musical Memoir Collection), which is meant to be an accompaniment to her new memoir, also titled Boys In the Trees.

“This is a special album that serves as an additional way to look at my stories,” said Simon in a statement. “Most of these songs are precursors to what eventually became the book. As the narrative only goes up to 1983, there are many songs to follow. If you feel like playing this puzzle, there are clues of how to cross-reference the songs with the chapters, pages and words.

Among the things Simon, now 70, chronicles in her new memoir is her tempestuous relationship with ex husband James Taylor and how her love for him endures.

“I still want to heal him, I still want to make him all right,” Simon tells PEOPLE, while confirming that the two do not speak. “And I love him so much.”

Songs From the Trees (A Musical Memoir Collection) is out Nov. 20.
